Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Experienced Field Service Representative to support the P-8A Poseidon at Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, Florida by helping troubleshoot aircraft and mission system problems.

You are applying for a Field Operations position where our employees must be willing and able (potentially short notice) to travel to a variety of locations (domestic and/or international) to meet the needs of our customers.

Field Operations employees may be required to relocate to another Field Operations location based on customer needs and/or management requirements.

Specific contracts supported by Field Operations could require employees to perform a deployment to a US DOD contingency operation. Employees associated with these specific contracts must be able to pass military contractor health standards for deployment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Act as resident expert to develop and recommend solutions to a wide variety of technically complex P-8 operational problems
  • Demonstrate expertise in fiber optics repair and terminations, with the ability to train and mentor customers in troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation of fiber optic systems
  • Work with US Navy Sailors, NATEC, and Navy Fleet Support Team (FST) to troubleshoot 737NG aircraft and P-8 mission-systems issues
  • Extract relevant information from Boeing drawings and command media not available to the customer
  • Identify replacement part numbers for items that are not in the Navy supply chain
  • Provide on-the-job training to Sailors
  • Solicit customer feedback and take action to improve satisfaction with our service offerings
  • As the P-8 Sustainment program's "forward sensor", recognizing and reporting potential customer needs and documenting operational activities are key responsibilities
  • Although standard working hours are the norm, the position requires a willingness to work flexible hours to support the mission and end user as needed
  • You may also be asked to deploy to any location the P-8 aircraft supports, potentially on short notice

Special Programs Access may be required per the customer.  Certain Special Programs require that the candidate have only U.S. Citizenship or no dual citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Fiber Optics Repair and Terminations
  • Minimum of 3 years working with 737NG or P-8A aircraft systems
  • Minimum of 3 years working with aircraft mission systems
  • Minimum of 7 years of flight line maintenance experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestic or internationally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) 
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation.
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able to relocate to a variety of locations (domestic and international) to meet customer needs and the statement of work.  Failure to relocate will be considered as a resignation. 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Current/active United States Passport
  • Currently hold or have held an Airframe & Power plant (A&P) license - or equivalent military experience
  • Experience with the P-8 aircraft operations or sustainment
  • Understanding of aircraft maintenance and parts manuals & engineering drawings, especially wiring diagrams
  • Experience troubleshooting Electrical/Avionics and Environmental systems and related systems’ problems/issues
  • Experience working with US Navy Aviation (NAVAIR)
  • At least one year of Quality Assurance inspector experience in an aircraft maintenance or production environment
  • WIRs Experience
  • Support Equipment for Large Aircraft Experience
  • Ability to work independently without direct oversight
