Our technology practice has grown significantly over the past few years and we anticipate this continuing and increasing into the future.<p></p><p></p><p><span><span>You will have at least 6 years’ experience in </span><span>providing</span><span> commercial legal advice, </span><span>preferably </span><span>within an in-house environment or within law firms, ideally working with clients </span><span>similar to</span><span> PwC or its competitors. You will also have excellent communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships and the capability to </span><span>determine</span><span> strategy and influence negotiations in an innovative business environment.</span></span><span> </span></p><p></p><p><span><span>The work is demanding</span><span> and varied</span><span>, and no day will be the same. You will be able to assimilate information quickly, get to the heart of a deal and </span><span>advise</span><span> the business not just on the legal and commercial aspects of any given deal, but on the </span><span>project as a whole</span><span>. You will work closely with engagement delivery teams, you will have direct access to our clients and their legal </span><span>teams</span><span> and you will act as the face of PwC in </span><span>negotiations</span><span>. The existing</span><span> OGC </span><span>team is highly valued by the </span><span>business</span><span> and are very much seen as business enablers</span><span>, </span><span>always </span><span>retaining</span><span> a commercial focus</span><span>.</span></span><span> </span></p><p></p><p><span><span>The Irish OGC team is led by the General Counsel, who is a member of the Firm Leadership Team, </span><span>and also</span><span> consists of four other Legal Counsel who you will work alongside. The existing team is </span><span>an experienced, well </span><span>established</span><span> and supportive group of professionals, who are highly regarded by and well networked to the business, and who have strong relationships with a wide range of senior professionals in the organisation</span><span>.</span></span><span> </span></p><p></p><p><span><span>Whilst this role has a technology focus, </span><span>OGC works as one team, with no </span><span>definitive </span><span>clear</span><span> cut</span><span> division of specialities, which means that the successful candidate will </span><span>also </span><span>be exposed to a broad variety of in- house matters, giving them the opportunity to develop new areas of legal </span><span>expertise</span><span>. </span></span><span> </span></p><p></p><p><span><span>The individual appointed to this role will report to the </span><span>OGC Director</span><span>.</span><span> The successful candidate will have access to the broad range of training and developmental opportunities available to staff at PwC and will come into a defined career structure.</span></span><span> </span></p><p></p><p><b><span>Key responsibilities include:   </span></b></p><ul><li><p><span><span>Independently negotiating, </span><span>managing</span><span> and running complex contract negotiations on behalf of OGC to include </span><span>n</span><span>on standard</span><span>/</span><span>client contracts, public body contracts, and global framework agreements, MSAs or other multi territory contracts; </span></span><span> </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><span>Negotiating commercial contracts with a specific focus on technology implementation contracts and/or managed service</span><span>s</span><span>, outsourcing and other commercial and IT related contracts;</span></span><span> </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><span>Be the OGC point of contact and lead OGC contracts lawyer for </span><span>technology </span><span>contracting for the Firm</span><span>; </span></span><span> </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><span>Advise on data protection law and review and negotiate data protection terms in both client and </span><span>supplier</span><span> agreements; </span></span><span> </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><span>Work in collaboration</span><span> with the wider PwC network as </span><span>r</span><span>equired</span><span> </span><span>on cross border deals </span><span>including Global Framework Agreements and Master Services Agreements. </span></span><span> </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><span>Take </span><span>responsibility</span><span> for managing and creating new precedents and guidance notes for use thr
