Cornelius Veterinary Clinic is a long-standing small animal practice located in beautiful Cornelius, Oregon with deep ties to the community. Our goal is to provide excellent care for pet families for many years to come.
Cornelius Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced CVT.
The ideal candidate would be compassionate towards our patients and clients. Be confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, monitoring surgery patients, surgical recovery, drawing blood and running bloodwork, placing IV catheters, knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning, experience with in-clinic laboratory equipment, comfortable with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education and is a positive and supportive team player. Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Technicians (highly preferred)
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital or animal clinic
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Knowledge of common treatments and processes normally found in a veterinary hospital setting
- Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
- Assisting doctor and other technical staff with surgeries
- Blood draws (cephalic and jugular)
- Placing IV catheters
- Digital radiology including positioning.
- Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
- Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
- Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
- Excellent client communication/education
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
