Pediatric Critical Care Physician

Hours Per Week:  Full time as scheduled by Employer

• 75% clinical
• 5% administrative
• 20% teaching 

Duties:

1. Act as primary physician for patients transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, if referring physician does not have privileges in the Unit.
2. Perform formal consultations on all patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
3. Serve as a specialist and consultant in the field of pediatrics.
4. Perform performance improvement activities related to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
5. Directs the activities of medical and other personnel engaged in rendering medical or surgical treatment to patients.
6. Offer comments and recommendations relative to the adequacy of equipment and personnel utilized in the Department.
7. Recommend equipment need, modernization and assist with input to capital budget projects.
8. Provide consultative and advisory services to clinicians as requested.
9. Maintain necessary and appropriate documentation for all services provided in compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
10. Provide on-call and or clinic coverage as requested by the Department Chairman.
11. Participate in scholarly activity and research.
12. Assume responsibility and supervision of educational programs for residents as it applies to the Department.
13. Responsible for reviewing medical content of resident's entries into the medical records and evaluating the clinical competence of residents.
14. Other departmental duties as assigned by the Chairman.
