About the role
Steadily is an insurtech that insures landlords. We're three years old (Series B), just over 100 people, manage $6B in risk, and are intent on becoming the best and largest insurer of rental properties.
We exist to deliver fast, affordable insurance and to pay claims quickly and fairly. To do that, we hire the best engineers, actuaries, sales, and service people in the country to build the experience that we'd want if we were a client.
Steadily is hiring a Controller to help us run a tight ship by guiding us to the right financial decisions quickly and accurately.
What You'll Do
- Be a financial advisor to the executive team for strategic planning, budget decisions, and hiring plans
- Lead annual tax and audit
- Manage payroll and procurement/reimbursement
- Work with engineering team to build the tech for smarter, faster revenue recognition
- Develop the tools and habits that will support a future IPO
- CPA
- Experienced: You've advanced rapidly in your career over the last 6+ years in accounting
- Startupy: You learned the ropes at a major accounting firm but made the switch into a fast-paced tech startup
- Driven: You're hungry and hard-working, with the desire to drive the trajectory of a rapidly growing company
- Collaborative: We hire the best so that we have stars in every role, but we also practice "no brilliant jerks"
- Insurance (nice to have): If you already know this space and how things like reinsurance work, you'll ramp much quicker
- Salary $150,000 - $180,000
