Job Summary:

The Global Internal Controls SOD & Special Projects Manager is a highly organized, goal-oriented project manager who leads and supervises projects through completion. This candidate has the capability and authority to manage projects on a day-to-day basis, ensuring the required deliverables are produced within the specified constraints of time and cost to achieve the business objectives.  While managing the projects, this resource will ensure work processes and procedures adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Director, Internal Controls.

 

Including:

  • Development and management of global projects scope and plan within the team’s capacity,
  • Facilitation of effort estimates and actuals,
  • Creation and management of project schedules,
  • Creation and management of a risks and issues register in support of planned projects and initiatives,
  • Management and tracking project milestones and change requests,
  • Acts as a liaison between business partners and project stakeholders to establish and enforce accountability through RACI’s,
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives including the creation of the supporting documentation and work procedures, and
  • Overall management of the Global Internal Controls team portfolio of projects and initiatives.

 

This is a highly visible role requiring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a sharp finance and accounting focus, business sense, and a collaborative mentality. The role reports into the Director, Internal Controls.

 

  • Develop, roll out and maintain a formal global SOD program through research, discussions and collaboration.
  • Facilitate Finance IT Intake meetings to determine impact to the projects portfolio and any risk to the control environment and communicate impact of change in system to relevant team members.

  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources. Responsibilities include the management of project scope and activities within the team’s capacity, facilitation of effort estimates and actuals, creation and management of standard project schedules, creation and management of a risks and issues register, management and tracking of project change requests, and development of contingency plans to achieve goals within set timeframe.

  • Provide leadership by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones. Establish and communicate RACI’s as a foundation for accountability.

  • Facilitate governance meetings with resources at all levels: Global Internal Controls team, additional first line project resources, IT (when applicable), and key management stakeholders. Track and clearly communicate progress against milestones with timely escalation of any critical roadblocks.

  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects ensuring the overall programs and projects are aligned to and directly support the achievement of the tactical or strategic objectives.

  • Assist in eliminating internal and external blockers through process or strategic improvements.

  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.

  • Contribute to and enforce agreed upon methodologies, best practices, ways of working, the proper use of standard templates, organizational policies, standard tools and procedures, all while striving to mature these practices and capabilities for the organization.

  • Coordinate resources and manage commitments across the various teams and projects.

  • Sets and continually manages project and program expectations, while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.

  • Ensure assigned tasks, deliverables and the supporting commitments are agreed upon and aligned across teams and projects.
