About the role
As a Senior Cloud Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform, you will lead the design and deployment of robust, scalable, and secure cloud architectures. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our clients' cloud environments are optimized for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency. Your in-depth knowledge of GCP services and best practices will be crucial in guiding projects to successful outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement complex automation tasks and cloud architecture
- Design, build, test, and deploy highly scalable and resilient cloud-based applications on private and public clouds
- Apply GCP Well-Architected principles to production systems and operational support tooling
- Develop deep expertise with Google Cloud Platform
- Take ownership of key architecture decisions
- Design and implement tooling and processes to ease and accelerate the developer experience of engineering teams
- Work in a supportive environment with many growth opportunities
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather requirements and design cloud architectures that align with business needs.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager.
- Implement DevOps practices to automate deployment, scaling, and management of cloud services.
- Ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of cloud architecture and operations.
- Collaborate with the sales and consulting teams to provide technical expertise during pre-sales activities.
- Provide technical leadership to teams of Junior Cloud Engineers
Requirements
- Strong experience as a DevOps Engineer, with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
- In-depth knowledge of GCP services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and related technologies
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager
- Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Stackdriver, Prometheus, or ELK stack
- Excellent scripting skills in languages like Bash, Python, or Ruby
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues
- Strong computer science or engineering foundations are highly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is not a requirement.
