Reporting to the Head, of Culture, Leadership & Enterprise Design, the Head of Enterprise Strategic Learning & Organizational Development is accountable for the strategy and execution of the design and development of BMO’s enterprise learning programs and organizational development programs. This position serves as a key thought partner to the organization on learning and development required to deliver on the enterprise strategy. This position identifies the enterprise learning needs and delivers effective learning and performance-focused programs to the entire organization as well as need based facilitated interventions. The role is accountable to develop, promote, maintain and actively manage a portfolio of learning curriculum and enterprise learning strategic initiatives. Ensures the effective and efficient execution of all elements including strategy development, program development, change management and communications. 

As a key member of the Culture, Leadership & Enterprise Development leadership team, contributes to setting the strategic direction for the functions overall, informing and shaping the vision, strategy and execution of programs and initiatives to drive enterprise development. 

Qualifications:

  • Develops and maintains relationships with senior leaders across the enterprise to keeps abreast of their priorities, current and planned initiatives, and provides ongoing insights and expert advice on learning opportunities to drive performance higher.
  • Design and build learning strategies to support Ambition 2025 objectives and oversee design and delivery of learning interventions
  • Develops and implements enterprise learning approaches, driving learning evolution and maintaining an understanding of world-wide trends, as emerging technologies and the pace of change transforms the environment and the capabilities required to succeed.
  • Manages the design, execution and measurement of key enterprise learning programs – e.g. DEI, Orientation (Welcome to BMO, L@B) ensuring they are relevant and effective
  • Builds and maintains a program evaluation regime to monitor overall learning effectiveness and ensure learning content and interventions are guided by data based feedback
  • Partners with learning leaders in each group and across BMO to understand planned learning priorities in support of a cohesive learner experience
  • Participates in the management of vendor relationships; ensures regular reviews are in place, key performance indicators are monitored, service level agreements are met and service costs are kept within budget.
  • Leads a team of learning experts in the successful execution of the strategic roadmap and desired business results, team development and team dynamics management
  • Develops team members, plans for succession, and fosters a high-performance culture while leading and mentoring a diverse team
  • Drives top talent acquisition and retention, developing organizational capabilities to drive competitive advantage
  • Fosters diversity, equity and inclusion and creates an inclusive environment for all employees by eliminating barriers to inclusion
  • Promotes and supports the Bank’s risk culture ensuring employees understand their accountabilities for risk-taking activities, promoting an environment of open communication and effective challenge, and establishing the “tone from the top” through leading by example while complying with the Bank’s Risk Appetite framework
  • Fosters diversity, equity and inclusion and creates an inclusive environment for all employees by eliminating barriers to inclusion
  • Leads, promotes and reinforces the Bank’s customer focus to support our vision; personally role models customer focus; drives sustainable improvements in customer loyalty and business growth; adheres and supports enterprise customer experience and brand standards

Salary:

$103,500.00 - $192,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
