- Use molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and genomic techniques to define mechanisms underlying chromosome stability
- Analyze data and maintain detailed experimental records
- Collaborate with other scientists in the department and beyond
- Keep excellent digital records
- Prepare manuscripts and presentations for conferences
- Apply for outside funding, with help from the PI, as eligible
- Ph.D. in a biological science, chemistry, physics, or other relevant area; M.D.; or equivalent
- Interest in learning new techniques and exploring complex biological questions
- Ability to interpret experimental data and summarize findings
- Commitment to participate in lab and departmental activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative in independent research projects
- Strong teamwork and collaborative skills
- Prior research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology
