Job Description

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for General Dentist, Assistant/Associate/Professor in Residence, Department of Clinical Sciences, School of Dental Medicine [R0134904]

ROLE of the POSITION

The UNLV School of Dental Medicine is looking to fill six (6) Clinical Faculty – General Dentistry positions. Successful candidates will provide comprehensive clinical supervision, oversight, and instruction in the delivery of safe, ethical, and evidence-based patient care by students enrolled in the DMD/DDS predoctoral dental program.

This faculty member will serve as a professional mentor and role model, demonstrating exemplary clinical skills, professionalism, communication, and patient-centered care. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing chairside supervision to predoctoral dental students in UNLV SDM clinics

  • Teaching preclinical, simulation, and clinical general dentistry courses

  • Developing, updating, and delivering didactic content, including lectures, seminars, and small-group instruction

  • Ensuring integration of contemporary science, clinical innovation, and digital dentistry technologies into educational activities

  • Contributing to student assessment, competency evaluations, remediation, and academic support

  • Maintaining compliance with CODA standards, OSHA, HIPAA, quality assurance, and institutional policies

The position requires a strong community orientation, including participation in community outreach, service-learning programs, and other SDM community initiatives. Engagement in scholarship or research is encouraged and supported.

Additional expectations include service on school and university committees, participation in accreditation and quality-improvement processes, and engagement in faculty development
