Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for General Dentist, Assistant/Associate/Professor in Residence, Department of Clinical Sciences, School of Dental Medicine [R0134904]
ROLE of the POSITION
The UNLV School of Dental Medicine is looking to fill six (6) Clinical Faculty – General Dentistry positions. Successful candidates will provide comprehensive clinical supervision, oversight, and instruction in the delivery of safe, ethical, and evidence-based patient care by students enrolled in the DMD/DDS predoctoral dental program.
This faculty member will serve as a professional mentor and role model, demonstrating exemplary clinical skills, professionalism, communication, and patient-centered care. Responsibilities include:
Providing chairside supervision to predoctoral dental students in UNLV SDM clinics
Teaching preclinical, simulation, and clinical general dentistry courses
Developing, updating, and delivering didactic content, including lectures, seminars, and small-group instruction
Ensuring integration of contemporary science, clinical innovation, and digital dentistry technologies into educational activities
Contributing to student assessment, competency evaluations, remediation, and academic support
Maintaining compliance with CODA standards, OSHA, HIPAA, quality assurance, and institutional policies
The position requires a strong community orientation, including participation in community outreach, service-learning programs, and other SDM community initiatives. Engagement in scholarship or research is encouraged and supported.
Additional expectations include service on school and university committees, participation in accreditation and quality-improvement processes, and engagement in faculty development
