About the role

In this role you will be responsible for managing both strategic and operational people-focused programs while acting as a direct partner to our growing Flex team. This person will help optimize current people programs such as compensation, performance management, and onboarding, assist and sometimes lead creating new programs, and will be direct support for the VP, People. This person will also be oversight to the day to day operations, managing a People Coordinator.  

This is a hybrid role with onsite presence regularly at Flex HQ, at least 2-3 days per week.

What you’ll do

  • Manage the administration and optimization of core programs and services such as compensation, benefits, performance management, employee engagement, and in person collaboration to ensure Flex is meeting any regulatory requirements and providing an excellent employee experience
  • Act as a strategic partner for new program creation around total rewards, culture, L&D, workforce planning
  • Serve as a partner to leaders and staff; proactively engaging where necessary to keep up employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Assist in regular leadership reporting, partnering with the People Operations Manager on data and metrics
  • Support recruiting with job leveling and new hire compensation and equity packages
  • Oversee current culture initiatives such as our annual company off site and help develop further employee engagement activities
  • Oversee and manage HR compliance initiatives including audits (SOC2, EEOC, ACA), investigations, regular reporting/documentation and partner with the Legal and Compliance team, as needed
  • Act as support for the People Team budget and partner closely with Finance as needed
  • Own management of all People vendor relationships 
  • Oversee the “business as usual” items including company-wide meetings, onboarding/offboarding, open enrollment, engagement surveys, and general employee relation activities
  • Acts as backup for the VP, People and is able to fill in for other areas of the People team as needed

Key qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in a HRBP or generalist role, with extensive experience in compensation/total rewards and solid experience with employee relations, performance management, benefits, and employee development
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze problems and current practices to formulate recommendations for improvement
  • Love of building from scratch and being comfortable with iteration
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently at all levels building strong relationships across the organization
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple high priorities at once
  • Strong experience with people metrics and reporting 
  • Highly relational and able to build trust at all levels
  • Ability to present to large groups virtually and in person
  • Broad knowledge of federal and state labor laws and practices

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working at a start-up
  • Experience supporting immigration processes, extra bonus points for supporting a globally diverse workforce
  • Experience doing or overseeing payroll

The national pay range for this role is $175,000-$195,000 in base salary. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience aligned with Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
