Job Description

The Sr. Financial Analyst I will be responsible for performing financial analysis and supporting the budgeting and forecasting of Corporate and Shared Service Operating Expenses. The incumbent will perform expense related activities for the month end close, budgeting and forecasting processes in order to manage and control spend. The incumbent will possess the ability to analyze and interpret financial and accounting data, with minimal supervision, in order to build and communicate critical decision-driving reports for senior leadership.

Job Duties

  • Analyze departmental operating expense results and variances in order to ensure accuracy as well as identify any emerging trends.
  • Be the financial eyes and ears for Corporate and Shared Service Department leaders in controlling.
  • Review and provide standard set of reports to Finance Managers and department leaders.
  • Prepare the annual Budget and quarterly forecasts related to operating expenses. This includes preparing/updating reports, making operating expense changes in the financial system, expense variance analysis, and intelligently challenging financial projections provided by department leaders.
  • Prepare Journal Entries and Reports for the monthly close process.
  • Research budget to actual variances within the general ledgers. Identify and correct prepaid and/or accrued expense adjustments needed.
  • Work closely with the financial systems group to develop and implement system-based approaches for financial planning and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience is a must.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Accounting or Finance experience is required.

 

Preferred:

 

  • Must have strong PC Skills(Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Hyperion Experience a Plus, but not required.
  • SAP Experience a Plus, but not required.
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize job duties in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Must have the ability to think critically, produce high quality work and adapt well to organizational changes.
