What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $105,000 - $142,000/year. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Friday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s).

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.   

In this position you can expect to work on site at least 3 days per week at or near Denver International Airport.

Denver International Airport is looking for a Real Estate Planning Manager to join the DEN Real Estate team. In this dynamic role, you will report to the Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development and lead regional planning efforts to facilitate commercial development of land at Denver International Airport. The DEN Real Estate team is a small and flexible division of DEN, which rewards flexibility and honors individuals’ desire to contribute to its overall goals in ways that they enjoy outside of their core responsibilities. 

This position participates in the coordination and management of the internal and external team required to properly plan for regional real estate development in the Far Northeast area of Denver surrounding Denver International Airport. This position will be integral in helping to establish and manage the strong regional working relationships with Adams County, City of Aurora, Commerce City and other stakeholders in the region. 

Specifically, as the Real Estate Planning Manager, you will:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage commercial development projects on DEN’s non-aviation land. 

  • Represent DEN in negotiations and communications with external partners and agencies, coordinate stakeholder engagement, resolve conflicting interests, and establish and build relationships with various jurisdictions.

  • Prepare layouts and infrastructure plans for development sites. 

  • Coordinate market studies, infrastructure planning, and construction activities. 

  • Develop and manage budgets, contracts, and reimbursement documents, as well as laying out pro-active budget needs for planning efforts including the engagement of professional service consultant.
