What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is responsible for developing Federal enterprise systems utilizing custom code and microservices architecture. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an enterprise level application as part of a collaborative team.

The Tester will support a high-paced client environment and a team of experienced application developers. The development team supports a large integrated platform, which deploys through a DevSecOps pipeline.  

Tester will support the agile team within a prescribed SDLC and deployment process, which requires testing and supporting documentation to be completed at consistent milestones during each delivery sprint. Communication is paramount to keep to the sprint milestones to ensure a successful delivery and production deployment each sprint. Tester must be able to work with developers, analysts, and DevOps engineers to support the team fully.

The Tester will contribute to creating all test plans and automated test scripts.  Ensuring adherence to testing standards by working with the team to improve minimizing defects. Adherence to deadlines and communicating status and progress.

What You Will Need:

• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance.

• Minimum of 5+ of related experience as a software tester creating both automated and manual tests. 2+ years’ experience comfortably working with Selenium.

• Experience performing application testing using existing testing tools and manual testing.

• Experience with Java; contributing to software development by testing and validating specifications are met in an Agile Scrum environment.

• Following established software development testing standards and procedures and contributing towards their improvement.

• Designing and developing complete automated test coverage of the application.

• Developing manual and automated test cases.

• Performing root cause analysis with developers and surfacing steps to recreate issues.

• Participating in peer and design reviews.

• Reviewing and analyzing complex programming specifications to test each application requirement properly and effectively.

• Conducting thorough defect analysis, document findings, and steps to reproduce.

• Providing production support and suggesting enhancements to existing business applications.

• Multi-tasking and communicating status regularly to ensure all deadlines are met.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science.

• Familiarity with TSA or similar DHS customer.

• Understanding of 508 compliance and related testing.

• Understand code deployment into established continuous integration/continuous development (CI/CD) pipeline. How testing would differ in each step of the deployment process.

• Understanding of DevOps testing environment

• Understanding Object-Oriented Programming and how it relates to software testing.

• Is familiar with approaches and methodologies related to customer and user experience for digital solutions. 

• Is familiar with advanced agile practices, including release trains, DevOps, CI/CD pipeline management, and security requirements.
