Description

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) performs a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, treating, and preventing disease. The CLS ensures high-quality, accurate results in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and analyze clinical laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood banking.

  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, troubleshooting as necessary.

  • Accurately record and report test results to appropriate personnel within established timeframes.

  • Perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.

  • Follow laboratory policies and procedures, including safety, infection control, and compliance guidelines.

  • Participate in continuing education and stay current with technological advancements.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.

  • Valid CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) license.

  • ASCP or equivalent national certification preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and safety protocols.

  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure.
