Hiring Range: $22.96 - $26.98 Per Hour

The Pima County Office of Digital Inclusion is seeking two candidates with excellent communication skills, adaptability, empathy and patience to serve as part-time Community Engagement Specialists. This role is about more than outreach — it’s about building trusted relationships, empowering community members with digital skills, and removing the barriers that prevent access to technology, connectivity, and opportunity.

Community Engagement Specialists serve as trusted guides who help people connect to affordable internet service, obtain devices, and develop the digital skills necessary to participate in our digital world — whether that’s applying for jobs, attending telehealth appointments, accessing education, or communicating with family.

This part-time position is Monday - Friday, with occasional weekends.

Essential Functions:

As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics.   • Assists in implementing and supporting promotional activities related to the advertisement and marketing of community programs or services;

  • Supports the planning and participation in administrative and operational activities for community engagement programs;

  • Collaborates with county departments and the public to support community engagement through various programs, outreach events, and educational activities;

  • Assists in identifying and addressing barriers to participation for culturally and economically diverse communities, including currently and historically marginalized groups;

  • Helps establish and maintain liaison relationships and coordinates community engagement activities with other departments, public and private agencies, and organizations;

  • Provides support services to county and public associations, including assistance with communications, newsletters, activity planning, public relations, outreach efforts, and general information;

  • Assists in organizing and facilitating community engagement activities and events;

  • Supports the maintenance of related webpages and social media accounts;

  • Assists in collecting and analyzing data, preparing reports, and compiling statistical materials for management review;

  • Helps monitor and track expenditures related to community services or initiatives, contributing to data collection and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in public relations, communications, social work, community development, or a closely related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment, AND two (2) years of experience in community outreach, engagement, or a related area.


(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)


OR:


One (1) year of experience with Pima County in a relevant position as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.
