We are looking for a Supervisory Examiner for our Consumer Affairs unit. This is a management level position, reporting to an Assistant vice President, with direct responsibility for field staff (entry-level through experienced) regarding daily performance and career development. Supervisory Examiners coordinate staff development for direct reports and less experienced examiners and oversee administrative responsibilities related to their assigned team. Supervisory Examiners are experts and provide technical support. You will work onsite in the St. Louis, MO or Little Rock, AR office.

Responsibilities

  • Be a leader for assigned staff members by providing feedback and candid advice.
  • Oversee the performance management process for assigned staff members and assess ongoing performance throughout the year that includes:
    • Develop personal performance plans;
    • Identify important competencies;
    • Set developmental goals;
    • Provide and receive feedback on assigned staff members;
    • Document status and final performance reviews for assigned staff members.
  • Work with the Training Coordinator and the Scheduler to schedule schools and ensure agreement of on-the-job experiences.
  • Review examination reports and workpapers for a portfolio of state member banks and provide feedback to EICs.
  • Regularly work with other members of management to improve communication and sharing of information to unit staff.
  • Communicate frequently with Division officers, management, and staff relaying supervisory issues identified and recommendations for supervisory action.
  • Routinely participate in Consumer Affairs Management Group meetings to discuss staff development, scheduling, personnel, and other Department issues.
  • Participate in salary administration including: merit increases, performance recognition awards and promotions.
  • Participate in District and System projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or business-related field (finance, accounting, economics) or commensurate experience.
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Commissioned examiner, with meaningful experience in consumer compliance laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of business risks, banking principles, and Consumer Affairs laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and people management skills.
  • Interest in mentoring staff and peers.
  • Travel (25%)

Salary: 160,000 – 180,000
