Job Title: 2026-2028 Post-doctoral Fellow - Alzheimer’s Disease Target Biology
Location: Cambridge, MA
About the Job
Join the engine of Sanofi’s mission — where deep immunoscience meets bold, AI-powered research. In R&D, you’ll drive breakthroughs that could turn the impossible into possible for millions.
We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated post-doctoral candidate to join the Sanofi Neurology Research Therapeutic Area, focused on discovering targets and validating and developing therapies for neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease. This position is laboratory-based and will involve executing experiments, including genetic screens, to identify and test new targets and therapeutics in vitro and ex vivo. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in neurodegeneration with strong expertise in Alzheimer’s Disease pathogenesis and extensive experience in models of brain disease, with the ability to perform cell culture-based experiments using gene silencing techniques (e.g. CRISPR) on primary brain cells and/or iPSCs. The ideal candidate will also have experience running various bioanalysis assays including ELISA or MSD-based systems.
About Sanofi:
We’re an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving people’s lives and delivering compelling growth. Our deep understanding of the immune system – and innovative pipeline – enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives
Main Responsibilities:
Establish screen (e.g. CRISPR) in iPSC-derived microglia to validate potential targets.
Utilize high content imaging to evaluate neuronal health and morphology in primary or iPSC neurons.
Validate in vivo mouse and/or rat models of neurodegeneration to support proof-of-concept studies.
Measure compound exposure and changes in neuroinflammatory pathways in the CNS using ELISA, MSD or other similar approaches.
Design and execute experiments, analyze data and clearly communicate results at internal and external meetings and conferences.
Interact in a matrixed, dynamic and cross-functional manner across the Neurology Therapeutic Area, Research Platforms, and external collaborators.
Establish and maintain a scientific network external to the company to advance portfolio projects through collaborations.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a PhD in neuroscience, neurodegeneration, neuroimmunology, or related discipline with a track record of peer-reviewed publications.
Expertise in Alzheimer’s disease biology, genetic screens, and isolation and cell culturing of primary brain cells and iPSC-derived cells (e.g. microglia, neurons).
Extensive experience with in vitro models and tools (including but not limited to gene silencing)
Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the postdoc fellowship
Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience analyzing big data sets using programming and/or AI-based approaches.
Experience with in vivo animal models of neurodegeneration, dosing (ip, iv, po), and tissue collection i
