Summary
Spire is searching for a Specialist, Fleet Administration, in our St Louis Missouri location. This position will be responsible for the administration of the Spire vehicle fleet to include but not limited to; state and federal compliance, recalls, registrations, processing of incoming and outgoing assets, and fuel card management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance of all state & federal regulations regarding Department of Transportation (DOT) vehicles and equipment, MCS150, International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and International Registration Plan (IRP).
- Oversees and creates prepaid payment request for Department of Motor Vehicle transactions related to licensing, sales tax, or other requirements.
- Primary person responsible for managing manufacturer’s recalls for all Spire entities.
- Acts as administrator for the company fuel card. Processes order of new cards, cancels inactive cards, and is the primary contact to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Maintain vehicle listings on SharePoint site to ensure most current listings are available.
- Assists in the creation of new assets in the fleet management and telematics systems.
- Reconciles new assets that are purchased with the Department of Revenue.
- Assist in the management of assigned Pool vehicles, creates reservations, ensures vehicles are ready for dispatch, monitors for fuel, battery health, and cleanliness.
- Creates requisitions for purchase orders (PO’s) for products such as oil, fuel, and others for Missouri facilities.
- Maintains lease database and payments as required.
- Assists in maintaining the GPS database by loading drivers, vehicles, hierarchies, groups, scheduled reports, authorized users, and maintaining site permissions

Required Education (certifications, licenses)
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Associate degree in business management or related area of study preferred.
- Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) or Certified Automotive Fleet Specialist (CAFS) a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, and experience in fleet management software a plus.
- Must have and maintain a valid drivers license.
General knowledge of a wide variety of vehicles and equipment
Required knowledge, skill and abilities
- Excellent communication
- Four years of experience in the automotive fleet maintenance or repair industry preferred
- Previous experience in database management, Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
- Familiar with Database Technology and business applications
- General mechanical knowledge of a wide variety of vehicles and equipment preferred
Physical demands, environment and schedule
- Work is normally performed in a shared office environment Monday thru Friday 7:30 to 4:30.
- Frequently required to travel to licensing offices and various Spire locations.
- Objective based tasks can drive responsibilities outside of the office environment on occasion.
- On call duties as required.
