ROLE SUMMARY
You will serve as a legal advisor and counselor to corporate and divisional People Experience (PX) professionals, and business leaders, providing expert guidance on a variety of federal and state employment law issues in the US.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide PX and business leaders advice and counsel on employment laws, regulations, Company policies and best practices impacting all phases of employment.
Review, draft, and revise Company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Manage employment litigation with support from outside counsel, including attorney demand letters, administrative charges, complaints, and arbitration. · Provide strategic counsel, risk mitigation, and guidance on investigations, disciplinary matters, terminations and other sensitive workplace issues.
Draft, review and update employment contracts, severance agreements, and other employment-related documents.
Develop and conduct employment law and policy related training for PX, management, and colleagues.
Stay current on changes to employment laws and regulations and inform the necessary parties of any changes that could impact the business.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
JD and admitted member of the bar in New York, or a U.S. state with reciprocity with New York.
7+ years' experience practicing employment law (in-house and/or law firm). · Strong analytical and communication skills.
Excellent business judgment with the ability to balance legal risk with business goals.
Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with multiple internal stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
Artificial Intelligence legal knowledge and interest
Pharmaceutical industry experience
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Occasional travel required
