This position provides direction to all managers, supervisors and professionals from the Manufacturing, and Warehouse teams, as well as provides leadership and alignment with the supporting groups to Manufacturing such as Operations Support, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Laboratories, and Planning. The Senior Manager Operations is responsible to define and execute strategic business plans and operations goals and objectives.
This position is responsible to execute on short-term production objectives ensuring proper and compliant utilization of manpower, equipment, and raw materials. Develop recommendations and solutions for identified obstacles. Partner with the supporting cross functional teams to determine priorities and resource allocations related to execution in support of the Plant’s goals, objectives, measures, metrics, and continuous improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend scheduled GMP training, comply with procedures, demonstrate integrity, promptly report deviations, foster employee engagement, ensure team training, and promote a collaborative workplace environment.
- Be a knowledgeable Power User of assigned systems, proficient in MS Office and relevant software, with experience in electronic batch records, SAP or ERP systems, and automated manufacturing execution systems, while ensuring GxP computer systems remain validated.
- Understand critical product, component, and labeling requirements, including product family, size, characteristics (color, viscosity), and processing parameters for active ingredients and excipients.
- Ensure departmental personnel are trained and compliant for their roles, act as a subject matter expert and curriculum owner, guide the training department in developing materials and curricula, and ensure timely completion of all required training.
- Ensure sufficient resources for investigations, drive root cause analysis and issue resolution, and participate in the investigation process by reviewing and approving investigations as necessary.
- Ensure employees are trained and compliant with procedures, foster a culture of engagement and safety, and promptly address deviations and safety hazards in the workplace.
- Maintain strong GMP knowledge, support audit processes, and ensure all operations are conducted safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with EHS to implement safety programs, promote adherence to safety standards, and maintain a clean and compliant work environment.
- Ensure all documentation, SOPs, and work instructions are aligned with defined manufacturing processes and GMP practices, approve relevant quality documentation, and make necessary edits to maintain compliance and performance expectations.
- Complete Operational Excellence training, ensure team participation, proactively identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities, and champion the implementation of Lean concepts and kaizen events within the team's processes.
- Translate company strategy into actionable plans for functional teams (manufacturing, engineering, planning, compliance) while providing direction and prioritization.
