About the Team

Our Infrastructure Engineering organization builds and operates the technology platforms upon which Workday delivers world class Software as a Service to help businesses run their people, process and financials. The Security Engineering pillar within Infrastructure delivers security services, tools, and automated controls across the various platforms in Workday’s production infrastructure.

About the Role

Do you have a passion for security? Workday is looking for a Sr. Program Manager to join our diverse team. In this individual contributor role, you will be leading security programs that drive critical improvements across Workday's product infrastructure using industry standard processes and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

This is a pivotal role in improving Workday's security posture. Responsible for end-to-end management of programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients. This role requires a strategic problem solver with a deep understanding of security frameworks, and a proven track record of optimally leading sophisticated programs.

Collaborating with sponsors, engineers, architects and program managers from engineering and development teams to analyze and define the technical needs of projects and drive the requirements through the design phase. Responsible for the management and delivery of enterprise wide programs. Your daily work will have a direct impact on our customers and our business.

Responsibilities

• Mobilize and complete multiple large scale enterprise-wide Security Engineering programs
• Identify and raise dependencies and handle trade-offs involving features, cost, design and schedule
• Plan and ensure project execution is well within (sometimes ambitious) timelines
• Maintain program artifacts up to operational standards
• Effectively present program updates to cross functional team members and executive leadership through the complete project /program lifecycle
• Drive process optimization and find opportunities for improving our service offerings
• Build security controls and work across organizations to drive their successful and timely implementation.

About You

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a Cyber-Security related role
• 6+ years of experience in a project and program management capacity
• 2+ years of experience with Agile project management and process improvement methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)

Other Qualifications

• Strong understanding of risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements
• Experience driving security-related cross-functional projects
• Technical knowledge including security, infrastructure, public cloud concepts, AWS and/or GCP
• Technical security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GIAC
• Solid understanding of Information Security concepts, tools and standards
• Sophisticated problem solver capable of translating issues into simple terms to facilitate discussion and decision
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
• Ability to drive teamwork and influence multiple teams
