We are looking for a passionate Practice Assistant. The ideal candidate will be motivated by joining a quickly growing organization. Excited to help us improve the care experience for patients and providers. The Practice Assistant is a multi-skilled worker who assumes a wide range of clinical and administrative roles within the physician office setting. The Practice Assistant serves as a key team player when interacting and communicating with patients and/or clinical staff in the ambulatory care environment. Most importantly we’re looking to bring someone into our team who is excited about our mission to improve mental healthcare across the country.
This is a part-time role working between 12 - 15 hours per week from 4 - 7pm Monday through Friday in Lincoln, NE.
Job Responsibilities:
The Practice Assistant is an essential member of the patient care team by supporting the providers with the delivery of high-quality health care to ambulatory patients
Perform assigned duties in a fast-paced fluid environment
Create a friendly and stress-free experience for clients through exceptional customer service and professional conduct
Greet and check clients in and out at each visit
Collect co-pay/co-insurance and private pay client payments
Contact insurance to verify eligibility and coverage
Provide accurate benefit quote to client
Handle incoming and outgoing calls
Assist prospective clients by answering questions and inquiries about our practice
Handling vital signs, such as weight, height, temperature, pulse, uranalysis and respiration rate
Schedule client appointment via screening questions to best match a therapist to meet their needs and requests
Provide paperwork to clients for completion, to include office policies and required documents for signature
Prepare, update, and maintain accurate client profiles utilizing the EMR system
Maintain client HIPAA rights, and other protections of confidentiality and privacy
Submit records to inquiring parties with documentation of proper release forms and materials
Ensure prompt, accurate, and efficient handling of documents for filing and scanning
Copy/scan/fax/email information as required
Assist with communication between clients and providers
Understanding of policies and procedures
Maintains safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
Knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations
Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by providers, therapists and office manager
