About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate Kennel Assistant to support our emergency veterinary team in a fast-paced hospital environment. In this role, you will help care for hospitalized animals while ensuring the hospital remains clean, organized, and safe for patients, clients, and team members.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with animals, maintains a positive attitude during busy shifts, and takes pride in supporting a collaborative veterinary team dedicated to excellent patient care.
Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Feed, water, walk, and assist veterinary technicians in monitoring hospitalized animals.
Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, treatment areas, and equipment to maintain a sanitary hospital environment.
Assist veterinary staff with patient restraint and basic handling during exams or treatments.
Maintain laundry, bedding, and restock supplies throughout the hospital.
Support general hospital upkeep, including cleaning floors, washing dishes, and organizing workspaces.
Help ensure a safe, organized, and efficient environment for patients and staff.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Animal handling experience preferred; veterinary or emergency hospital experience is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
Dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented mindset.
Strong work ethic and willingness to support the veterinary team where needed.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Schedule flexibility, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, due to the nature of emergency veterinary care.
