The firm is seeking a Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our Technical Accounting Consulting practice in Chicago. We are seeking a self-motivated, professional, and responsible Individual to focus on accounting and finance-related projects for local governments. This position is responsible for both client service and administrative/accounting functions necessary to support the success of the service line and the clients. This is a critical role where you can truly make a difference in the success of the client and our team.
Responsibilities Include:
This is a hands-on position that requires timely completion of tasks. Duties include:
- Key point of contact for our clients, including ability to be on-site
- Strong oral skills and written communication skills
- Maintain task list and timely follow-up on open items
- Perform various monthly bookkeeping and accounting consulting services for assigned clients using independent judgment and technical knowledge, including:
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Assist client with updating financial information for their bi-weekly or monthly board meetings
- Proposing journal entries for cash receipts, disbursements, investments, payroll, transfers, and other transactions
- Update depreciation schedules
- Assist client with preparation of their year-end audit workpapers.
- Assist client with preparation of year-end financial statements and regulatory reporting
- Conduct research and prepare analysis of data, reports and presentations, as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum 2 years local government accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- Experience with government ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to adapt to change effectively
- Excellent interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
