The Senior Project Manager is ideally based near our Dallas, TX or Newark, NJ Fulfillment Centers to best support our teams with a hybrid work schedule.
The Senior Operations Project Manager plans, leads and executes strategic projects related to fulfillment center operations, collaborating with various stakeholders, including production, inventory, supply chain, logistics, planning, sourcing, procurement and customer service teams. The role is responsible for driving the team towards the project goals, achieving the goals, overall delivery of project artifacts and monitoring and reporting on project status to the executive management team. The role operates within the Project Management Office, adhering to established standards and protocols, while focusing on driving towards and delivering results, and managing cross-functional teams.
What you will do:
- Define, plan, initiate and manage projects in the operations and production business areas.
- Collaborate across functions and teams to ensure swift and smooth project execution.
- Provide communication and reporting on the project progress and status to warrant transparency, alignment and results delivery.
- Deliver results as defined in project documentation.
- Drive, engage and inspire project teams and collaborators to maintain focus on key project goals and deliverables.
- Arrange, lead and document project meetings and discussions.
- Manage all project documentation and communication.
- Take initiative and action to resolve any potential issues and risks that may jeopardize project execution, set goals or artifacts delivery.
Requirements
Who you are:
- Proven track record of successfully redesigning operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity within a fulfillment center or similar environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in optimizing operations or supply chain costs and implementing cost-effective strategies while maintaining operational excellence.
- Previous experience leveraging process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement frameworks.
- Excellent practical knowledge and previous working experience of a wide range of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Kanban, Waterfall).
- Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities across operations and supply chain.
- Ability to drive initiatives across functions without compromising on quality and service levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma) is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership abilities, capable of inspiring and motivating teams to achieve common goals.
- Familiarity with meal kit operations or perishable food production is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Proven experience in creating and managing budgets to achieve cost control objectives.
