The Physician provides comprehensive medical care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting, to include diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. This role collaborates with nursing and other healthcare staff to develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications, and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. The Physician will also maintain accurate medical records and adheres to all healthcare regulations and facility policies. 

This position is Part Time, On-site, 24 hours per week

• The detention center is staffed by licensed healthcare professionals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

• All behavioral and mental health patients are diagnosed and managed by Licensed Mental Health Professionals and Psychiatrists or PMHNPs.

• The medical department already has protocols and guidelines for management of individuals who who might be going through substance withdrawal.

• We have obtain offsite medical records where available.

• Our EMR is very user-friendly EMR and a dedicated in-house support team will help train and troubleshoot any issues as needed.

• Put the headache of insurance hassles behind you; no insurance forms, no Prior Authorizations, no denials, no appeals, and no collections.

• The medical department and any other areas that you may end up to see patients is staffed by security personnel 24/7.

• Most new arrivals at the detention center will be released or bonded within the first week.

• MEDIKO will provide you with training and orientation to correctional medicine by physicians and personnel with decades of experience in the field.
