The Boeing Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) team is seeking multiple Quantum Applications Software Engineers (Experienced/Senior) in El Segundo, CA, Huntington Beach, CA, or Fairfax, VA. 

This position is within the DC&N portfolio. The successful candidate will work in a multi-skilled Quantum Technologies team that is focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design, development of simulation and software technologies in support of hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) and emulated test systems.

The successful candidate will have excellent communications skills and work well in a team environment to support the needs of DC&N and the Quantum Technologies team. You will directly partner with company stakeholders and program management to deliver the highest value capabilities, performing demonstrations along the way. This position requires proven experience with simulation technologies, quantum technology (sensing, computing, networking) research and development, and software/hardware integration.

Position Responsibilities:
•    Perform definition of software requirements, architectures, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for hardware-in-the-loop simulation systems and digital emulations.
•    Design, develop, integrate, and test software models to simulate the behavior and functionality of hardware components or systems to provide a hardware-in-the-loop integration and test environment
•    Perform development and integration of complex software components across numerous components and subsystems into a fully functional hardware-in-the-loop test system
•    Develop test procedures and environments, execute the tests and document results to ensure software system requirements are met.
•    Contribute to program engagements and demonstrations with partners and customers on software simulation capabilities, development, and integration into larger software architectures and environments.
•    Contribute to the identification, innovation, implementation of new tools and processes to support this work scope.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 

•    Ability to obtain an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required) and ability to complete a CI (Counter Intelligence) polygraph after employment start / post-start
•    3+ years of experience with C/C++ coding or java/python script development

•    1+ years of experience with bench marking quantum computer performance for algorithm implementations
•    Experience or research studies research related to quantum sensor, computing or networking hardware

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 

•    Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
•    Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Poly
•    Experience with scaling simulations from small demonstrations to large system of systems
•    Experience with hardware-in-the-loop simulation
•    Experience with fielding quantum technology system or components as part of a research and development project, particularly for aerospace applications or platforms
•    Experience with Discrete Time Event Simulators
•    Experience with multithreading to port over simulations from non-real time to FPGA's and GPU's

•    3+ years of experience working with FPGA embedded systems
