About this Position

  • Coordinate and inspect the work of internal staff and contractors.
  • Conduct safety inspections of county facilities.
  • Meet with contractors for quotes on operational work, i.e., quotes on floor cleaning, pressure washing, etc.
  • Coordinate with Planner/Scheduler on maintenance work.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Meet with customers for schedule input on disruptive maintenance work.
  • Investigate calls for maintenance repair prior to dispatching Skilled Trades Minor repair of facilities-related issues, and small repairs.
  • Lower and raise flags per Presidential Proclamation and replace flags.
  • Inspect and initial fire extinguishers as required by the Fire Code.
  • Assist in the removal of persons from elevator entrapment.
  • Monitor, order, and stock satellite warehouses with custodial paper products.
  • Assist with the set up of Public meetings.

Work Schedule: 

  • Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Work schedules may vary due to split shift coverage needs, rotations, emergencies, etc.
  • May be re-assigned to a different work location.
  • On-call rotation required.   

About You

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • A High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in construction, maintenance, contract construction trades, or in a field providing technical/supervisory services to construction/maintenance contractors. 
  • -OR- College or university-level training in related fields may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required construction/maintenance experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire.

Physical Demands: Must frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds. 

Subject to Passing Substance Screening:  This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.  An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five (5) years.

CJIS Clearance: The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.

About Everything Else

Starting Pay Range: $23.56 - $25.00/hour, based on experience
