About the Role
Kard is hiring an Accounting Manager, our first internal Accounting hire. This role will report into the VP of Finance & Operations, and be responsible for handling end-to-end accounting tasks while also playing a significant role in FP&A.
Responsibilities
- Perform month and quarter end close activities, including preparation of monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and analysis to supporting financial reporting
- Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness and GAAP compliance
- Own all daily operations of the accounting department, including AP and AR
- Ensure monthly customer billings are prepare in accordance with contracts, reviewed by appropriate personnel and timely submission to each customer
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Experience overseeing external audits and working with internal teams to document and put in practice recommendations from those audits
- Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements to internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Ability to interpret accounting rules and regulations and apply to company processes
- Oversee financial planning processes, ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting
- Build and maintain all balance sheet and cashflow forecasting
- Own reporting to all external stakeholders
Desired Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a substantial portion of that experience in internal audit roles within a big tech company
- Flexible and able to tackle ad hoc requests
- Bias to action, craves challenging work, is aligned with the team mentality of “we do what we say”
- Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) principles
- Able to leverage a strong background in internal audit to enhance and maintain robust internal controls
- Comfortable with QBO, Ramp, Bill.com and other standard off-the-shelf accounting tools
Nice to Have
- Start-up experience
- M&A experience (buy or sell side)
- Has supported a large financing round ($25MM+)
- Experience working at venture-backed B2B SaaS companies, or in digital media
- Experience working with Mosaic.tech (FP&A tool)
