Southeastern Virginia Training Center is hiring a Food Service Technician I Trayline / Driver to join our team. These positions play a key part in supporting the well-being of adults with intellectual disabilities by preparing and delivering meals food carts to and from residential homes and maintaining a safe and sanitary food service operation.

Job Duties
• Assemble meal trays according to dietary specifications and portion guidelines.
• Ensure accuracy in meal distribution while maintaining sanitation and food safety standards.
• Load, transport, and deliver meals safely and efficiently to designated locations.
• Operate food service equipment and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
• Follow established procedures for proper food handling, storage, and preparation.
• Assist in inventory management and report supply needs as necessary.
• Adhere to all Back of House (BOH) regulations and compliance standards.
• Support overall food service operations as directed by supervisors.
These positions are hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year.
Must be able to work rotating shifts scheduled between 5am-1:30pm; 6am-2:30pm and 10:30am-7:00pm including weekends and holidays
These positions are considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested.
All new hires must successfully complete the facility’s Pre-service training program. Preservice training class is 5 days long 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Skills and experience required:
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in their lives. We also seek the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Valid active driver's license
- Knowledge of Back of House (BOH) regulations and adherence to compliance standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Skilled in handling sharp objects safely, including knives, meat slicers, and grinders for food preparation.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience in residential food service work, food consistencies, or diet requirements
