Job Description
Crew Coordinator – School of Music Production Office
As a Crew Coordinator, you will ensure performances are run professionally and efficiently by working with our Music Crew, consisting of approximately 40 university students. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting trainings, collaborating with office assistants, scheduling crew shifts, planning crew events, and working alongside other stage technicians and their teams.
What you’ll do in this position:
- Coordinate with artists, faculty, and directors to meet their creative and technical needs.
- Develop and implement structured training programs for new student technicians.
- Mentor students on professionalism, reliability, and effective communication in a production environment.
- Ensure students understand proper safety protocols and technical standards.
- Create and manage production schedules, including crew assignments and call times.
- Collaborate with faculty and artistic directors to maintain accurate production timelines.
- Organize and lead production meetings to confirm all logistical and technical details.
- Assist in maintaining a master calendar of performances, rehearsals, and production needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Provide hands-on support with stage transitions, instrument strikes, and equipment adjustments.
- Ensure clear communication between technical and front-of-house teams.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required:
- 2 years of experience in business-related secretarial duties.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficient in learning and using scheduling software.
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree.
- Proficient in Excel or equivalent programs.
- Existing knowledge of performance venue equipment, practices, personnel needs, and terminology.
