About the role
bloomon is turning the flower industry on its head – for the better. How? By disrupting the traditional supply chain! We skip the auction and wholesale, to shorten the journey for our flowers. And we harness technology, brand and innovation to deliver gifts and subscriptions that delight our customers across Europe.
We launched in Amsterdam in 2014, and in 2021 joined forces with Bloom & Wild, the UK's fastest growing ecommerce company (according to the Financial Times). Our group is backed by top tier investors and is now home to a family of 3 strong brands, Bloom & Wild, bloomon and Bergamotte. Together, we’ve delivered over 20 million orders (and counting!), making us the largest direct to consumer flower business in Europe.
Our vision is to create the destination for making life a little more thoughtful and beautiful. And we won't stop at flowers and plants. Starting with the Bloom & Wild brand, we're expanding our gifting offering to other categories like cakes, candles and cocktails. This is all part of our ambition to build Europe's #1 direct to consumer gifting destination and our Amstelveen warehouse is our central production and distribution hub for our European ambitions.
🛠️ Operations @ Bloom & Wild GroupThe Operations team at bloomon and Bloom & Wild is split broadly into three sub-teams, although in practice these sub-teams all work very closely together:
1. This sub-team is also in charge of forecasting our orders at fulfilment level2. The teams based at these sites optimises for customer satisfaction, quality and associated COGs3. Supply Chain and Quality - this team manages our supply chain for fresh flowers, plants and non floral gifts as well as working with our flower supply chain partners to optimise for quality in our supply chain.
Our multidisciplinary team is organised, punctual, and results-oriented. We love seeing the rewards of our efforts in happy customers. We enjoy the freedom and opportunity to optimise the business environment where there is never a dull moment.
Warehouse Operations ImprovementThe warehouse operations improvement team works on a variety of projects to improve the way we operate across our supply chain & operations teams. We have a strong focus on automation and implementing tooling to aid and digitalize our processes, as well as continuously improving the processes that are in place already.
You will report into the Warehouse Operations Improvement Lead and work closely with the Head of Warehouse Amstelveen to identify and execute improvement projects. No project is like the other, and there is a great opportunity to learn and grow in the role.
