👩‍💻 The Role 

Location: While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote, and you can work from home. Forever. To create the best experience for our new hire, this role requires you to be based in IST + / -2  hours time zone.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a 12 month fixed-term employment contract.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to help us carry out our day-to-day accounting activities, manage the monthly reporting process, and own the ERP activities. The role will oversee the accounting for Oyster entities based around the world, managing and communicating with all the various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting and intercompany transactions for global subsidiaries.
• Prepare and review financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations for multiple entities.
• Coordinate and provide necessary documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual local statutory filings.
• Ensure the accuracy of local reporting and filings through thorough review and reconciliation.
• Conduct financial analysis, identify trends and present insights to stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of financial standards and process improvements.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
• Execute ad hoc financial projects and analyses as required.

Core Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a senior role.
• CPA or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including expertise in pivot tables and large dataset manipulation.
• Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and a logical approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent organizational abilities, demonstrating effective task and deadline management.
• Superior communication skills, with experience in stakeholder management and asynchronous work environments.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively follow up and manage stakeholders, ensuring timely completion of tasks and deliverables across multiple departments and levels of seniority.
• Proactive mindset toward process improvement and automation.
• Familiarity with Indian accounting standards and tax regulations.

• [BONUS] Background in payroll processing or SaaS companies.
• [BONUS] Prior work experience in a high-growth startup or dynamic business environment.
