Description

BMA is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. This is a remote role.

 

Job Summary 

  • Ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections, including planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links.
  • Organizes and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems, ensuring systems run securely, efficiently, and reliably.
  • Analyzes and resolves end user software program and connectivity issues.
  • Conducts capacity and performance analysis and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.
  • Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment.
  • Provides end user training.
  • Provides recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision.
  • Provides local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location.
  • Support includes general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications.
  • Directs the work of other system administrators to provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance.
  • Applies advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications, and ensuring fault tolerance.        Performs vulnerability management.

 

Clearance Requirements 

There is a DoD Secret Clearance requirement for this position. 

 

 

Required Skills & Certifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA / BS) Degree in relevant field.
  • DoD 8570/8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II (i.e., CompTIA Security+ ce, CCNA Security, CND, SSCP, etc.)
  • 10+ years of specialized progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, including data management, information security, systems engineering, information systems architecture, knowledge management, enterprise information integration (EII), data analytics; business intelligence, information assurance, and information technology service management (ITSM)
  • Experience delivering solutions with a wide range of hardware/software.
  • 4+ years of concentrated, hand-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software.
  • Computing Environment certifications, one or more of the following: Computing Environment: Azure Administrator Associate, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, MS .NET Developer Associate, Azure Enterprise Administrator Expert.
  • Experience working on various operating systems such as Windows (10/11), Windows Server (2016-2022, includes Active Directory, Group Policy), Unix (AIX, Solaris, HP-UX), Linux, Amazon Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu CentOS, Rocky Linux, includes shell scripting, file systems, permissions), PowerShell/Bash scripting, etc.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages, including SQL, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Golang, Rust, etc.
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructures/Hybrid Environments such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Colud and involves managing IaaS, PaaS and cloud migration.
