Environmental Sustainability Specialist

Key Role:

Serve as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance and sustainability issues affecting government facilities. Provide a strategic outlook for business areas, periodically benchmarking how industry and other government agencies are addressing similar issues to those faced to the sustainability program. Perform analysis on the drafting of policy statements, standard operating procedures, fact sheets, newsletter articles, and other communications regarding current and future environmental and sustainability regulations affecting the government. Develop and review environmental compliance and management plans. Provide technical environmental regulatory assistance and guidance to facilitate environmental compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Develop and conduct environmental training for government employees and contractors.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience managing multi-disciplinary programs
• Experience with environmental compliance issues
• Knowledge in the field of sustainability including carbon free energy, electric vehicles, net zero emission buildings, net zero procurement, and climate resilient infrastructure
• Ability to manage competing requirements
• Ability to coordinate administrative tasks
• Ability to come up with creative and innovative solutions  
• Ability to provide schedule management and development for long term projects
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology
