JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Geological Sciences is seeing undergraduate students to serve as department research assistant who can assist faculty with various research projects. This undergraduate researcher will perform research tasks including collecting and comparing data related to air temperature, and suspended sediment concentrations and turbidity in glacial meltwater. The researcher will analyze field data as well as data available online and previously collected data. The researcher will write a paper describing the research project, including integrating scientific literature, and the student will present their results to COAST in the expected format.
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed some upper division geology field coursework. The successful candidate will join an intellectually stimulating and innovative academic environment that embraces diversity. The department offers B.A. and B.S. and M.S. degrees in Geology, as well as minor in geology.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have received a B+ or better in GEOL 3990.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be GEOLOGY majors.

Evidence of exemplary academic achievement Geology courses.
