Position Summary: The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine of Rowan University (SSVM) is seeking Veterinary Assistants and Veterinary Technicians to join our new veterinary program and teaching hospital. The hospital is located 1.5 miles from our main Glassboro campus. SSVM is a new and innovative veterinary teaching hospital for small animals, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including a 3T MRI and 128-slice CT. The teaching hospital is designed to accommodate multiple specialty departments, including anesthesia, cardiology, dermatology, dentistry and oral surgery, diagnostic imaging, emergency/critical care, exotics, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, primary care, and surgery. These positions will support the clinical services in the veterinary teaching hospital treating patients and educating students. Selected candidates will be able to:
-Familiar with common neurologic disease, neurologic surgery and post operative care
-Proficient with anesthesia and anesthetic patient monitoring of ASA I-III (preferred experience with ASA I-V)
-Has experience in surgical assisting and post-operative care
-Able to obtain blood pressure, interpret basic ECG, Sp02, and ETC02 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care
-Available for future on-call rotation (required)
-Has strong communication skills Preferred Qualifications: -CVT/LVT/RVT (active license)
