Purpose
Provide daily assistance and excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff relating to the core functions of the Student Affairs Office at Texas Law.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support in a dynamic and high-volume student services department, including sitting at the front desk and answering questions and phone calls; maintaining the Outlook calendars for general events, classes and exams and processing room reservation requests, printing and distribution of Dean’s Achievement Awards; coordinating the School of Law’s Order of the Coif nominations; processing staff travel and reimbursements; and purchasing office supplies.
Fulfill requests for academic records, unofficial transcript, and certification requests; certify students for Third-Year bar cards and to sit for the bar exam; process discipline cases; perform audits of student/course information data; and ensure the maintenance of accurate records in all areas. Collect results from Bar examinations and assist with statistical reports as needed.
Assist in the administration and coordination of accommodations approved by the Disability and Access office.
Support student registration process; collect and organize textbook information and course packet sales with Document Solutions.
Assist with Student Affairs Office programming, including orientation and graduation. Administer final exams as assigned.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and five years of relevant experience. Clerical experience. Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment. Excellent organizational skills and oral and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving experience. Ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple concurrent projects. Professional demeanor.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three years’ experience coordinating or administering a program. Experience working in student services in a law school or other higher education setting. Superior MS Office Suite skills including high proficiency with MS Excel. Experience with purchasing and financial systems. Experience administering or coordinating student accommodations.
Salary Range
$45,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
