About the role


Paul Revere K-8 in San Francisco is seeking committed and passionate Program Leaders to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our Beacon After School Programs at Paul Revere. Under the direction of the Site Coordinator, Program Leaders will provide homework assistance and will lead a Project-Based Learning Club with groups of up to 20 students. In addition to providing a structured environment for "homework time," qualified candidates should be comfortable planning and leading one-hour creative lessons for enrichment time/clubs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree OR 48 or more college units OR pass the Instructional Aide exam (proctored by BACR)
  • Must pass criminal background check and TB test clearance
  • Ability to work given schedule Monday-Friday 10:30am-7pm
  • Previous experience working with youth or in a school setting
  • Have strong classroom & behavioral management skills

Preferred

  • CPR/First Aid Certification OR willingness to receive training
  • Bilingual Spanish/English

Responsibilities

  • Create, plan, and facilitate engaging enrichment and physical activities for students
  • Provide homework and academic support for program participants
  • Write lesson plans, use learning targets and instructional strategies
  • Promote a safe and positive classroom environment
  • Actively supervise and ensure student safety at all times
  • Communicate regularly with the coordinator to ensure consistency
  • Communicate to parents about student progress and behavior
  • Attend and participate in all staff meetings and ongoing trainings
