Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

As a Security Officer in Jacksonville, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.25 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and security-related policies at a utilities location.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout operational areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and sensitive infrastructure to help to deter unauthorized access, verify credentials, and report security-related concerns to site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
• Prepare clear, timely reports on incidents, patrol activity, and daily operations, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal management and/or the client representative.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
