Description
The Accounting and Taxation area of Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business is seeking applications for one entry-level tenure-track assistant professor position beginning September 1, 2027. Research support is provided for junior faculty through summer research grants and reduced teaching loads. Applicants are expected to have received their PhD by Fall 2027.
The Gabelli School of Business is a strong and well-regarded business school. It consistently ranks highly in national rankings for undergraduate programs (#21 in the nation) and graduate programs, especially for its MBA (#10 in the nation for the Accounting Specialty Area) and EMBA (#10 in the nation). As the Gabelli School emphasizes both research and teaching, all candidates need to be able to work with students from a range of social, cultural, and economic backgrounds, have strong communication skills, and be committed to mentoring and serving as a role model for underrepresented students. Having a diverse and inclusive community of students and faculty is a key part of Fordham's Strategic Plan.
Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate strong research training and the potential to publish in top-tier academic journals in accounting and related fields. While we will consider candidates in any accounting-related sub-specialty, we are particularly interested in those who (i) have the ability to teach various tax courses (both undergraduate and graduate) and/or upper-level accounting courses at a level that proactively supports students seeking licensure and credentials for their careers, and (ii) have an understanding of how AI and big data are impacting financial reporting and research.
