JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Berks is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Director, Student Engagement & Leadership. This position provides direct oversight of registered student organizations (student clubs), plans and implements large scale campus programs where Student Affairs plays a key role, recruits and oversees orientation leaders and the Welcome Week/Weekend program, organizes student leadership workshops, and advises either the Campus Activities Board or co-advise Student Government Association.
They will also collaborate with the Associate Director of Student Affairs to implement the Alternative Spring Break program and other initiatives sponsored with the Office of Inclusive Excellence. The AD will work on a team within Student Engagement & Leadership to ensure support for established programs and activities, establish goals and objectives, measure outcomes, develop policies and procedures, and manage program and individual budgets.
Job Responsibilities:
Be a resource for student clubs and organizations, train club leaders, manage a system that houses information about clubs, and assist in training advisors for student clubs
Advise and develop student leaders which including orientation leaders, club officers, Campus Activities Board or Student Government Association members, and student workers
Plan and implement large-scale programs and collaborate with important campus stakeholders
Collaborate with other division staff across campus with initiatives related to Arts & Lecture, New Student Orientation, Admissions events, and other collaborative programs and events
Education:
Minimum Education: Master's Degree
Minimum Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
