Humana’s Medicare Growth Analytics Organization is seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to join our Membership Analytics team working remote anywhere in the US. The Membership Analytics team is seeking a Senior Data Scientist that will build forecast models using advanced AI techniques for our Medicare membership by leveraging disparate data sources, business knowledge, and sophisticated statistical models. Responsibilities will also include building models to understand the root causes of member acquisition and retention, with the end goal of providing the best product for the consumer. 

As the Senior Data Scientist, you will identify drivers of Medicare sales, retention, and enrollment growth by developing datasets and constructing models. You will also have the opportunity to provide insights by creating projections, analyses, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics. You will have a critical role in supporting our workflow using advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence tools. Coding, modeling, and building simulations to develop data-driven strategies and measure success will support our continuous efforts to improve our business strategy.

Key Role Functions

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business insights for our strategic partners

  • Identifying drivers of Medicare sales, retention and enrollment growth

  • Develop custom machine learning models, advanced analytic models, and statistical models

  • Use predictive modeling to bring insights into Humana member experiences utilizing Regression, Random Forest, XG Boost models, clustering, text mining for membership growth, and other business outcomes

  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy

  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, or related field

  • 3+ years of statistical analytics and/or predictive modeling experience

  • Demonstrated experience with SAS, Python, R, and/or SQL

  • Experience in using mathematics, statistics, modeling, artificial intelligence, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions

  • Experience in working with assignments that involve complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors

  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting

  • Experience in creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics

  • Ability to make decisions on complex issues regarding technical approach for project components

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in Mathematics/Statistics/Data Science

  • Experience with healthcare or managed care data

  • Experience performing data management, mining, and manipulation along with analytics
