Job Description
- This Senior Leader’s primary responsibility will be to lead a team of Firmware Engineers in support of WDC’s released Enterprise SSD products.
- The candidate will lead a team of engineers responsible for resolving complex customer qualification and field issues. The team will implement firmware modifications which may enhance performance, improve quality, and/or achieve cost reduction goals.
- Collaborate and drive engagement with related engineering functions such as Sustaining PDT, Development FW Team, ASIC Design, Memory System Engineering, Memory Device Engineering, Manufacturing, PQR, Account Teams etc.
- Align resourcing according to the Organization’s strategic directions, driving clarity and ensuring success for projects.
- Lead and coach the team to deliver for success. Maintain a diverse and inclusive environment that attracts, develops, and retains high performers.
- Ability to communicate ideas and shared vision effectively with Executives and Engineering teams.
- Strong aptitude and penchant for problem solving, complexity analysis and decision making.
Qualifications
- Bachelors/Masters with minimum 10+ year's experience.
- Direct experience delivering firmware for complex flash products.
- 5+ years of experience as a manager leading high performing engineering teams
- Exposure in leading large cross functional organizations that collaborate across multiple geographies.
- Experience building and managing high performance engineering teams
- Adaptable and agile with a mindset to drive innovation concurrently with execution
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.
- Strong skills in critical thinking, decision making, problem-solving, and attention to details
