Job Summary:
This role collaborates with Key and Outside Account Managers and Executives to provide inside support for specific Key Accounts to achieve strategic alignment, expanded product offers, and attain growth goals. They focus on strategic accounts and are vital in offering assistance across accounts, aiming to standardize products and proactively spotlight cross-plant growth, efficiency, and savings opportunities. An ideal candidate for this sales position is strategic, analytic, and forward-thinking in their approach. They deliver exceptional service across various locations, identify emerging trends, conduct data analysis, and manage operational tasks. Working with internal teams, they provide top-tier service to designated key accounts, aiming to maintain and enhance sales numbers.
Expectations:
- Concentrate on managing and supporting assigned key accounts with proactive analytics and actions.
- Guarantee top-tier service and experiences to assigned customers while vigorously protecting existing business.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the corporate programs so as to provide suggestions to support and enhance these programs.
- Handling tactical and administrative sides of account management, focusing on data analysis, report creation and improvement, trend identification, and fulfilling daily customer requirements.
- High levels of technology adoption include Excel, dashboards, reporting criteria creation, and self-guided computer skills.
- Deep understanding and appreciation for customer ordering systems and involvement in the establishment of ordering efficiencies and integration of e-procurement processes.
- Professional communication in all channels and at all levels of interaction to display Nelson-Jameson's appreciation of our key account customers and contacts.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Consistent analysis of key metrics through tools such as Excel to spot trends and areas for Improvement. It also involves predicting upcoming challenges by reviewing past data and market shifts and working together with essential team members to create and implement action plans. These plans aim to modify current strategies and proactively tackle potential problems.
- Maintain strong customer engagement with key accounts through regular communication, addressing their needs swiftly and ensuring smooth transactions for quotes, orders, and returns. Deliver outstanding service by setting and monitoring high standards and proactively managing inventory and backorders. Collaborate with account managers to identify and mitigate risks to business relationships, either by enhancing relationships or addressing service gaps.
- Stay updated on corporate program changes through meetings or documentation review. Utilize your program knowledge to make suggestions for improvement and better meet customer needs. Prepare data, presentations, reports, and insights to support and participate in business reviews.
- Create detailed, actionable reports on account performance and customer satisfaction. Identify trends by monitoring customer behavior, market conditions, and performance metrics. Use the Opportunity Tracker to update and assist in advancing sales opportunities.
- Review reports and dashboards to discover standardization, cost-saving, and opportunity gaps across plants, utilizing customer feedback for continuous improvement. Employ advanced Excel skills and dashboards for streamlined data analysis and real-time insights. Commit to self-guided learning to stay abreast of new technologies and tools.

Required Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of Sales, Customer Service, or Food Manufacturing experience.
- Residency in the Central Time Zone is required to facilitate scheduling for customer coverage.
- Passion for serving customers in a timely manner.

- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Effective and professional communication skills.
- Proficient with ERP, CRM, Microsoft Office, and basic computer skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience
- Distributor, manufacturer, or production experience working in industrial food or other sanitary manufacturing facilities.
