Summary


The Coordinator of Confirmation is responsible for all confirmation programs including Youth Confirmation, Adult Confirmation, On-line Adult Confirmation. This position performs all basic administrative duties related to the Confirmation program, maintaining files and records of all students and sacramental records. This position is responsible for  monitoring the budgetary cost centers for the program. The coordinator  will maintain a relationship with the Pastor to foster collaboration  throughout the parish community.


 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with Faith Formation registrations.
  • Virtus Facilitator – Ensure all Confirmation volunteers are Virtus compliant and coordinate training where needed.
  • Prepare and present catechist retreat and training for all Confirmation catechists.
  • Maintain service hours for teen volunteers.
  • Participate in DRE/CRE/YM deanery meetings. 
  • Prepare budgets with the Pastor and Parish Accountant for all programs.
  • Schedule meeting spaces and times.
  • Register Confirmation participants in ParishSoft in their appropriate classes.
  • Provide backup for catechists in class when necessary.
  • Purchase supplies for all programs.
  • Prepare check requests and purchase requests when required.
  • Issue receipts for payments received and prepare deposits for all funds collected and submit to bookkeeper and monitor tuition payments in  ParishSoft.
  • Prepare and print liturgy programs as needed.
  • Reports to the Pastor of all scheduling of events, meetings, retreats, and reports.
  •  Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholicism and the mission of the parish.  
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral policy of the Archdiocese of San Antonio is mandatory.


High School Confirmation 

  • Recruit, coordinate and oversee High School Confirmation catechists.
  • Plan curriculum and calendar.
  • Arrange guest presenters for Confirmation classes.
  • Verify documentation requirements are complete.
  • Maintain attendance records.
  • Plan and oversee High School Confirmation Retreat.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Liturgy to plan the Confirmation Mass.
  • Prepare certificates for Confirmandi.


Adult Confirmation

  • Act as Liaison for 10 sessions in person Adult Confirmation Class. Duties are the same as High School Confirmation for the Adult Confirmation Classes.
  • Facilitate the Archdiocesan on-line Adult Confirmation Program to include three meetings with the Confirmandi to evaluate their preparation. Gather documentation and schedule the confirmation at the Archdiocesan Masses


Quinceañeras

  • Interview and qualify candidates for Quinceañera with their parents prior to forwarding approved paperwork to the parish office for scheduling.
  • Develop and facilitate a Quinceañera day retreat in collaboration with the  Quinceañera Event Coordinator, to be offered twice a year.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community. (Sometimes this requirement may be  satisfied by a person who has knowledge of and is willing to function in a manner consistent with the mission of the Catholic Church).
  • Bilingual – (English and Spanish) preferred. 
  • Three years of parish and/or administrative office experience
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of staff and management
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays due to work an unpredictable schedule when necessary.
  • At least one year experience working with volunteers.
