ISS offers full-time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00-$21.00 Per Hour. The schedule includes weekends and hours vary according to business needs, the full 40 hours per week.

 

Key Purpose

The Cashier is the representative of Guckenheimer. He/she is responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of operating cash registers and stocking products within the guidelines established by the client organization as well as the Corporation.

• Ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and interact with all customers to help build and speak about the culture of Guckenheimer/ISS.
• Develop and maintain good relations with cooks, servers, porters, and managers. ​
• Support the catering team during special events and weekends.
• Greeting, smiling, make eye contact, and make customers feel welcome.

 

 

Ideal Candidate Experience

 

• Minimum 1 year in Retail Cashier or a similar role experience in operating cash registers. 
• Strong customer service skills.
• Have cafeteria or food operating skills.
• Knowledge of setting up or restocking beverages and product displays.
• Prior knowledge of basic computer skills. ​
• Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash registers and POS systems. ​
• Good math skills.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Customer satisfaction oriented.
• Prior experience handling cash and credit card transactions.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

• To accurately record sales on a cash register and make changes for customers within a 1% margin of error.
• Respond to customer concerns professionally and urgently per the company’s policy.
• Follow all safety rules and be actively aware and observant in the prevention of accidents.
• Commitment to the service values and ethics per the company’s standard.
• To operate the Cash Register Accurately.
• To recognize menu items and accurately charge customers for purchases.
• Prepare and stock service areas for hot and cold beverages, such as coffee and tea.
• Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment. ​
• Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blends and preparation descriptions.
• Ensure the service set up is clean and in a neat attractive manner with proper signage for all café stations.
• Maintain inventory of all paper, beverages, condiments, and grab-and-go items that are fully stocked throughout the day.
• Perform side work and end-of-shift closeout tasks.
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a neat cashier stand appearance.
• Work efficiently on moving the customers through the line quickly while keeping everything around the café clean by HACCP guidelines.
• Assist with front of house additional set ups and breakdown of food products. 
• Perform side work including opening and closing shift tasks. 
• Must follow other duties as assigned. 

 

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
• The employees must be able to work on their feet 8 hours per day excluding breaks.
• Employees must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
• Ensure and maintain a safe working environment for all dining customers and staff.
• For California employees, suitable seating is available for this position.
