- Plan and direct the operations of all logistics related activity including warehousing, vehicle movement and scheduling of sublet vendors.
- Establish priorities for logistics schedules based on production scheduling, vehicle availability and materials supply.
- Monitor daily logistical activity to ensure production quotas are met and targeted deadlines are achieved.
- Understand performance metrics; analyze trends to understand performance opportunities and to close gaps.
- Provide necessary support during new product development and rollout, and startups of new processes within the production environment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies and procedures, programs and practices.
- Anticipate the needs of the customer, plant and department in order to provide goods and services at the highest quality and the lowest cost.
- Monitor and manage department budget and spending.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to logistics Supervisors.
- Responsible for the hiring, development, discipline and termination for logistics employees.
- Develop manpower requirements based on production and warehousing guidelines.
- Work with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, service and delivery with the sales function.
- Champions safety for the department while influencing plant wide safety performance.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations including, air, water and other environmental emission standards.

Education and/or Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Additional education, certifications, or other distinctions are a plus
- Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)
Relevant Work Experience:
- 3-5+ years’ experience, including 5+ at a leadership level
- Breadth and depth of technical or functional expertise in own area of responsibility or department; may be acquiring knowledge of other related areas of departments
- Developing and implementing processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy
- 5+ years of previous management experience required.
- 5+ years of previous experience within a warehousing/logistics environment.
- Intermediate skills of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Technically oriented, comfortable around machinery and plant environment.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret a variety of technical information in mathematical and/or narrative form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Able to think strategically while understanding the big picture.
- Work well under pressure with multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proven ability to prioritize and execute upon aggressive goals, objectives, and action items
- Aid in creating and maintaining effective quality standards related to vehicle movement, storage and post production delivery.
- Maintain and report on all applicable KPIs.
- Actively participate in the development of direct reports via 1on1 sessions and consistent coaching.
- Participate in monthly budgeting operations for the site.
- Host and inform customers and potential customers on our capabilities and competencies related to their needs.
