Senior Purchaser

Your role

We are looking for a Purchasing Manager, Heating and Cooling Poland to strengthen the Fortum's Renewables & Decarbonisation Procurement Team.

As a Purchasing Manager, you shall execute procurement cases related to Growth and Investment projects, support operations and investments for our Heating and Cooling and ensure that materials and services are ordered according to business needs and timelines.

You will be working close with Heating and Cooling Poland business, shall report to Senior Manager, H&C POL Procurement, shall be member of H&C procurement team and are participating your business area procurement development. Location of the job is Fortum H&C PL office in Wrocław or Częstochowa or Zabrze, Poland. This job also requires limited travelling to project sites.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's goals and project requirements.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, prepare RfP’s , evaluate proposals, negotiate contract terms, and establish strong partnerships to ensure reliable supply chains.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineering teams to define procurement requirements, scope of supply and ensure timely procurement process  to meet project schedules.
• Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify cost-saving opportunities and innovative sourcing approaches.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the procurement function.

 

To be successful in the position we expect you to have:

• an academic degree in a relevant field, preferably within technology or business,
• at least 3 years of proven experience in a procurement role,
• experience in complex contracting and supplier negotiations
• experience in Maximo, SAP Ariba, Basware or similar systems is a big plus
• fluent Polish and English skills
• systematic, enthusiastic and initiative-taking approach to work
• strong collaboration and communication skills and good ability to cope with pressure
• familiarity with power plant processes and maintenance practices is a big plus
